Learn to Skate

Our Learn to Skate program (Group Lessons) is the perfect way for a beginner to give skating a try.

Our classes are taught by professionally trained coaches with support from our club’s high-level skaters to give your child as much support as possible.

“My skater is new to NUFSC, where do we start?”
If you are unsure about what class to register your child for we recommend signing them up for the Tot 1 also called Beginner 1 class. If your skater’s ability is found to be beyond that level the coach for their class will move them to the appropriate class after the first week. This class will show up for you under the Group Lesson tab in the Parent Portal.

Some sessions, a beginner class is offered both Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. They are the same class. A skater can choose to take either class or both classes if they want more ice time.

We are here to help!

Skating can be a lot to understand whether you are the skater or the parent. Please use these resources to help you and your skater! If you are a new skating parent, we will gladly set you up with an experienced skating parent to answer questions from their point of view to help you along the way. Welcome to our skating family at NUFSC! Please contact nufsclub@gmail.com with any questions and we will also help you connect with other parents.

Tuition assistance is available at United Way Youth Activities Scholarship Program.
